Dr. Louis M. Vasvary, a retiree from Cook College (now the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences) where he was an Extension Specialist in Entomology for over 30 years, passed away on May 22, 1999. He also was a long-time member and officer of the New Jersey Shade Tree Federation.
As a memorial to Lou, a Parrotia persica tree (a mature tree is pictured to the right) was planted on May 5, 2000 in front of Blake Hall on the George H. Cook Campus.
