Job Opening: Postdoctoral Research Associate

The Department of Entomology at Rutgers University has an immediate opening of a Research Associate position. Primary responsibility of the position is to conduct applied research in urban pest management. Current projects include bed bug and cockroach management research in apartment buildings. The secondary responsibility is to design, execute, and summarize bioassays for industry partners. The candidate is expected to assist in grant preparation, supervise undergraduate and graduate students, present research findings in professional meetings, and publish results in peer-reviewed journals. Continuous appointment depends on funding and performance. Salary will commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Qualifications: A Ph.D. degree in entomology and strong interpersonal skills. Ideal candidate should be physically fit for conducting field research as the research will involve visits to large numbers of apartments where physical labor is often required. Being able to effectively communicate with residents of various backgrounds is essential. Other desired knowledge and skills are: statistics, insect behavior, and insecticide resistance.
