All students are required to obtain practical experience in an area of entomology. Students can demonstrate appropriate employment or volunteer service with a public agency, private industry, nonprofit organization or fulfill the requirement by research or field experience in suitable courses. Before starting an experienced-based course students must get the approval of their adviser. Possible courses include:
- 11:370:493 and 11:370:494 Research Problems in Entomology
- 11:554:487 and 11:554:488 GH Cook Honors Program
- 11:902:301 SEBS Internship I and SEBS Internship II (SPIN)
Registering for any of the 370 courses listed above requires a special permission number. Students must complete the Experiential Learning (EL) contract (Word file) with their advisor and submit it to the UPD. Upon approval, a special permission number will be provided.
